Bradley Middleton, a safety manager at Drill Tech Drilling and Shoring Inc. , of Antioch, Calif., is the 400th industry professional to earn the Safety Certification for Transportation Project Professionals (SCTPP) credential, marking a major milestone in the program.
Genie invites customers to ask questions and get answers about the ANSI A92.22-2018 (United States) and CSA B354.7:17 (Canada) standards changes during its upcoming "Ask Me Anything" (AMA) event, June 10 to 14, 2019. When the new standards to go into effect, these changes will create a new "normal" for mobile elevated work platforms (MEWPs), formerly known as aerial work platforms (AWPs).
The new ANSI A92.22 standards for Safe Use and ANSI A92.24 standards for Training carry with them some major changes and substantial additional requirements for training, with new requirements for supervisor training. To help job sites be in compliance when the new standards go into effect in December 2019, the Genie Lift Pro Online MEWP Supervisor Training Course is now available.
The new ANSI A92.22 standards for Safe Use and ANSI A92.24 standards for Training published on Dec. 10, 2018, and everyone must be fully in compliance within one year. To help equipment owners and operators be in compliance by Dec. 10, 2019, Genie has updated its operator training programs to meet the requirements in the new standards:

A newly expanded study guide featuring 80 practice questions with answer key and explanation is designed to provide a big boost to industry professionals preparing for the Safety Certification for Transportation Project Professionals (SCTPP) exam.
The SCTPP program was launched in late 2016 to significantly reduce — or ideally eliminate — the 700 motorist and worker fatalities, and nearly 50,000 injuries that occur annually in and around U.S.
