Trail King Industries Inc. , a North American trailer manufacturer of open deck and materials hauling trailers serving a wide variety of markets, announced the recent hire of Mark Hartman, who joins the Trail King Sales department as a district sales manager.

Scott Equipment Company (Scott Equipment) will offer Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) products and services from its locations in Arkansas, in addition to its locations in Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee. The company closed an agreement with Little Rock, Ark.,-based Hugg & Hall Equipment Company (Hugg & Hall) and is taking over all Volvo CE distribution in that state.

Multi-Craft Contractors Inc. of Springdale, Ark., completed purchase of a Link-Belt 210-ton (185-t) ATC-3210 all-terrain crane in order to meet growing lifting demands of northwest Arkansas. Multi-Craft began operations in 1972, and services mechanical, electrical, fabrication and HVAC industries, along with other commercial and industrial needs.

Damage from a levee breach in Dardanelle, Ark., is still being addressed several weeks later and a decision is yet to be made on repairs. The city is located about 60 mi. northwest of Little Rock in Yell County. Dardanelle Mayor Jimmy Witt reported that the damage is 45 ft.

The governors of Arkansas and Alabama recently approved fuel tax increases, with Arkansas also placing on the 2020 ballot an amendment that would "indefinitely" extend a half-cent sales to generate $205 million a year for highway infrastructure needs.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) Arkansas' governor on Feb. 11 unveiled a $300 million highway funding plan that calls for increasing taxes and tapping into expected casino revenue, hoping to win over fellow Republicans who have said they want to address road needs before taking up his proposed income tax cut.

In an effort to ease congestion, the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) is overseeing an $87 million expansion project on Interstate 630 in Little Rock. Work began in July, with an expected completion date of January 2020. "This project is important because in order for the Big Rock Interchange to fully function as it was designed, this section of I-630 must be widened," said ARDOT spokesperson Danny Straessle.

LITTLE ROCK, ARK. - The Arkansas Department of Transportation is seeking federal approval of an environmental assessment that would clear the way for a more than $630 million renovation of Interstate 30. The department is working with the Federal Highway Administration to resolve issues on the project designed to ease congestion and improve safety in the corridor through Little Rock and North Little Rock.
