JCB in the United Kingdom is poised to re-start production at a factory closed as a result of the Coronavirus crisis in order to join the global effort to manufacture ventilators, the company announced March 30. JCB received a direct appeal from UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson to help plug the national ventilator shortage and to help save lives of Coronavirus patients.

Company Wrench held JCB Equipment Demo Day at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus, Ohio, on Feb. 28. The event attracted construction contractors, municipal maintenance employees and landscape contractors from around the Columbus metro and surrounding areas.

JCB celebrated a unique milestone as its 750,000th backhoe loader rolled off the production line in Rocester, Staffordshire — the very location where the first JCB backhoe was manufactured almost 70 years ago. In 1953 company founder, the late Joseph Cyril Bamford CBE, conceived the idea of the JCB backhoe loader, which created, for the first time, a single machine combining a front shovel and rear excavator arm.

JCB Power Products launched its range of RS generators designed specifically for the North American rental market. The range includes five Tier IV Final-compliant, delivering prime power output of 56 kW (70 kVA) to 500 kW (625 kVA). Additional features of the JCB RS Generator range include: Five models: G70RS produces 56 kW (70 kVA); G125RS produces 100 kW (125 kVA); G220RS produces 175 kW (220 kVA); G400RS produces 320 kW (400 kVA); G625RS produces 500 kW (625 kVA).

JCB and Extreme Sandbox collaborated with the Snickers brand, as they launched their new campaign, #SNICKERSFixTheWorld. Snickers hosted its #SNICKERSFixTheWorld event in downtown Miami, Fla., where the iconic chocolate brand invited professional athletes and media to share "why they dig" as they got behind the seat of two full-size JCB 150X excavators, each wrapped in special Snickers livery, to test their excavator operator skills under the supervision of heavy equipment instructors.

Construction equipment manufacturer, JCB, was recently recognized by United Rentals Inc. as its 2019 Supplier of the Year. The award recognizes JCB for outstanding value, timely delivery, product support, training and procurement excellence. JCB added the new 2TS-7T teleskid compact track loader to its range of teleskid skid steers and compact track loaders equipped with telescopic booms to lift higher, reach farther and dig deeper than other machines. The 2TS-7T teleskid is built on the company's small-platform skid steer chassis for optimal maneuverability and easy transportation between job sites without need for a commercial driver's license (subject to local regulations).

Tributes have been paid to a former JCB employee who joined the company as a teaboy and rose through the ranks to become a director. Bill Hirst, who was the third person recruited by JCB in 1947, passed away Jan. 5th at the age of 86. JCB Chairman Lord Bamford led the tributes to the man who joined JCB as the company was in its infancy.

JCB construction equipment dealer SoCal JCB has opened its newest dealer location at 14675 Valley Boulevard in Fontana, Calif. The 1.5-acre facility is the new headquarters for SoCal JCB and includes product display and demonstration areas, three service bays and a modern office environment.
