To better support customers and leverage the power of its wholly-owned network, Komatsu has created a new structure in North America to strengthen the growth of company-owned distributor branches. A new corporate unit within Komatsu has been created and effective immediately, all company-owned distributor locations will be branded simply "Komatsu" to reflect their inclusion in the company's global footprint.

For customers in the energy sector looking for stability and performance from their pipelaying equipment, Komatsu's D155CX-8 pipelayer was developed and designed in conjunction with pipeline companies. Its design received high marks from pipeline contractors during field evaluations.

Warranty and repair programs in the construction industry can be confusing and unclear. Komatsu's new Komatsu Care Plus and Komatsu Care Plus II programs — launched at ConExpo-Con/AGG 2020 — aim to change that. To create consistent coverage across the United States, the Komatsu Care Plus programs provide model-specific detail, outlining maintenance items serviced, repair coverages, program benefits, and terms and conditions.

Recognizing that productivity is the key to customers' success on the job site, Komatsu, the pioneer in machine control technology, is debuting its intelligent Machine Control 2.0 at ConExpo-Con/AGG 2020. Komatsu's intelligent Machine Control (iMC) is a suite of features that utilizes advanced machine technology to increase dozer productivity.

To meet North American customer demand for rock breakers, Komatsu is launching a full range of hydraulic breakers specifically for that market. Manufactured by Montabert, branded Komatsu, these hydraulic breakers are designed and tested to fit Komatsu excavators from the PCMR30-5 up to the PC800LC-8, without modification.

Extensive customer feedback and years of testing went into the design of Komatsu's versatile new WA475-10 wheel loader, introduced at ConExpo-Con/AGG 2020. Ideal for quarry, waste, infrastructure, forestry and non-residential construction applications, the newly designed WA475-10 with next-generation technology, is on display in Komatsu's booth N-10825.

Tapping into the power of IoT, Komatsu's construction customers soon will be able to control construction planning, management, schedule, costs, and optimize processes remotely and in near real time with the company's incoming suite of Smart Construction solutions.

The Route 18 road widening and bridge reconstruction project in Weymouth and Abington is the latest Accelerated Bridge construction project in Massachusetts, which includes others in the Accelerated Bridge Program, an eight year $3 billion campaign that targeted more than 500 bridges across the state.

In Connecticut, crews are performing a full replacement of the bridge that carries U.S. Route 1 over the Noroton River at the city/town line of Stamford and Darien. The $10.6 million project calls for a new single-span superstructure composed of prestressed beams, with a concrete deck on new pile supported footings and abutments.
